US Consensus Codes & Standards: Transmission Pipeline

Documents Scope
2004 Process Piping (ASME B31.3) B31.3 covers requirements for process piping typically found in petroleum refineries; chemical, pharmaceutical, textile, paper, semiconductor, and cryogenic plants; and related processing plants and terminals. It prescribes requirements for materials and components, design, fabrication, assembly, erection, examination, inspection, and testing of piping.
Hydrogen Pipeline Systems (CGA Publication G5.6) This is a joint European Industrial Gases Association (EIGA)/CGA international harmonized standard on metallic transmission and distribution piping systems carrying pure hydrogen and hydrogen mixtures.  It is limited to gaseous products with a temperature range between –40 °C and 175 °C (–40 °F and 347 °F); total pressures from 1 MPa to 21 MPa (150 psig to 3000 psig); and defined concentration criteria.
